At LanGeek, we’re committed to providing a reliable and rewarding language-learning experience. We understand, however, that there may be situations where a refund is appropriate.

This policy explains when refunds may be available, how to request one, and how the process differs depending on where the purchase was made.

1. Refund Eligibility

Purchases Made Directly Through LanGeek

Users who purchase LanGeek directly through our website may request a full refund within seven (7) days of their initial purchase, regardless of the reason.

Additional refund or withdrawal rights may apply under the policies of our payment provider or applicable consumer protection laws.

Apple App Store Purchases

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s refund policies and approval process.

LanGeek does not have the ability to directly process refunds for purchases made through the Apple App Store. Users must submit their refund request directly to Apple.

Apple determines whether an App Store purchase is eligible for a refund according to its policies and applicable consumer laws.

Google Play Purchases

Purchases made through Google Play are processed through Google’s payment system and are subject to Google Play’s applicable refund policies.

Depending on the circumstances and timing of the purchase, users may request a refund directly through Google Play or contact LanGeek Support for assistance.

2. Technical Issues

For purchases that LanGeek is able to refund directly, users who experience a significant technical or functional issue caused by LanGeek may request a refund within three (3) months of the purchase date.

Before an extended refund is approved:

  • The user must contact LanGeek Support and provide sufficient information about the issue.
  • LanGeek must be given up to two (2) weeks to investigate and attempt to resolve the problem.
  • The issue must significantly affect the user’s ability to use the purchased service.

This extended refund policy applies only to problems directly caused by LanGeek’s systems.

Issues caused by third-party platforms, operating systems, unsupported devices, app stores, internet connectivity, or other external services may not qualify under this extended policy.

For purchases made through Apple or Google Play, the applicable store’s refund rules and approval process may also apply.

3. Lifetime Plan Refunds

Lifetime Plan purchases made directly through LanGeek are eligible for a full refund within seven (7) days of purchase.

After this period, Lifetime Plan purchases are generally non-refundable unless:

  • a refund is required under applicable consumer protection law;
  • the payment provider grants additional refund rights; or
  • the purchase qualifies under the technical-issue provisions described above.

Lifetime purchases made through an app store are also subject to the applicable store’s refund policies.

4. Payment and Refund Method

Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers depending on where the purchase is made:

  • Paddle — purchases made directly through the LanGeek website
  • Google Play — purchases made through the Android application
  • Apple App Store — purchases made through the iOS application

Approved refunds are normally returned to the same payment method and account used for the original purchase.

LanGeek cannot transfer a refund to a different bank account, card, payment account, or payment method.

For purchases handled by Apple or Google, the applicable app store controls the refund transaction and payment method.

5. Paddle and Website Purchases

Purchases made directly through the LanGeek website are processed by Paddle, which acts as the payment provider and authorized reseller for the transaction.

Users may contact LanGeek Support for assistance with eligible refunds.

In some cases, users may also be able to manage their transaction or request assistance through Paddle using the links provided in their purchase receipt or subscription-management page.

Paddle’s own refund policy and any applicable statutory consumer rights may provide rights in addition to LanGeek’s refund policy.

6. Taxes and Processing Fees

Taxes are calculated and managed by the relevant payment provider according to the user’s country or region.

Refund treatment for:

  • sales tax;
  • VAT;
  • GST;
  • currency-conversion charges;
  • bank fees; and
  • other payment-processing fees

may depend on the rules of the relevant payment provider, bank, card issuer, or applicable law.

LanGeek cannot guarantee that third-party banking or currency-conversion fees will be refunded.

7. Data and Premium Access After a Refund

When a full refund is issued, the Premium access associated with the refunded purchase may be removed or disabled.

Features or benefits that are available only as part of the refunded Premium purchase may no longer be accessible.

The user’s LanGeek account and available free features may remain active unless the account is separately deleted by the user or otherwise restricted under LanGeek’s terms.

LanGeek may retain account and transaction information where necessary for legitimate business, security, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legal purposes.

8. Partial Refunds

LanGeek does not normally offer partial refunds.

Refunds approved directly under LanGeek’s refund policy are generally issued for the full amount of the applicable purchase.

However, a payment provider, app store, or applicable consumer law may provide different refund options in some circumstances.

9. Subscription Cancellation

Refunding a purchase and canceling a subscription are separate actions.

Canceling a subscription prevents future renewal charges but does not automatically generate a refund for an existing payment.

Website Purchases

Users who purchased through the LanGeek website can manage or cancel their subscription through the Billing section of their LanGeek account or through the subscription-management options provided by the payment provider.

A detailed guide is available in our Help Center:

How to Cancel Your LanGeek Subscription or Request a Refund

Apple App Store Purchases

Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store must be canceled through the user’s Apple subscription settings.

Refund requests must be submitted separately through Apple.

Google Play Purchases

Subscriptions purchased through Google Play must be canceled through the user’s Google Play subscription settings.

Eligible refund requests may be submitted through Google Play or handled through LanGeek where applicable.

10. Access After Cancellation

Canceling a subscription normally does not end Premium access immediately.

Users generally retain access to Premium features until the end of the billing period that has already been paid for, unless:

  • a refund is issued;
  • the payment is reversed;
  • the app store or payment provider applies a different rule; or
  • access is otherwise terminated according to LanGeek’s Terms of Service.

11. Refund Processing Time

LanGeek Support normally reviews refund requests submitted directly to us within 72 hours.

For refunds that LanGeek is able to process directly, the time required for the refunded amount to appear may vary depending on the payment provider, card issuer, bank, country, and payment method.

Refunds may take up to two (2) working weeks to appear after approval.

For refunds handled by Apple, Google Play, or Paddle directly, approval and processing times are controlled by the relevant provider and may differ from LanGeek’s processing times.

12. How to Contact LanGeek

For refund assistance relating to purchases that LanGeek can handle directly, contact:

info@langeek.co

Please include:

  • the email address associated with your LanGeek account;
  • the purchase date;
  • the order number, receipt number, or transaction ID, if available;
  • the platform used for the purchase — LanGeek website, Apple App Store, or Google Play; and
  • a brief description of the issue, where applicable.

For Apple App Store purchases, refund requests should be submitted directly to Apple.

13. Consumer Rights

Nothing in this Refund Policy limits or excludes any mandatory rights or remedies available to users under applicable consumer protection laws.

Where applicable law, an app store, or a payment provider provides greater refund or withdrawal rights than those described in this policy, those rights will continue to apply.

LanGeek reserves the right to update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version of the policy applicable at the time of a purchase may apply to that transaction, subject to any mandatory rights provided by applicable law.
